The cathedral, towering at 84m, is adorned with a rich interior featuring numerous frescoes and sculptures. The construction was initiated by the renowned Josip Juraj Strossmayer, and it took 16 years to complete. Beneath the cathedral, you'll find catacombs where numerous bishops, including J.J. Strossmayer, are buried.

One of the most important symbols of Đakovo and Đakovština is horses, with organized breeding dating back over five centuries at the renowned Đakovo State Stud Farm. The stud farm was established by Bosnian or Đakovo bishops in 1239. It is considered to have started in Đakovo in 1506 when the term "stud farm" was first mentioned. Queen Elizabeth II visited in 1972, and on March 15, 2016, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also visited.

Borovik is an artificial lake located west of Đakovo, created by damming the Vuka river in 1978. The lake covers an area of 160 hectares with a depth of 15 meters, a length of approximately 7000 meters, an average width of about 300 meters, and a total water volume of 8,500,000 m³. The lake got its name from the former settlement Borovik.

The museum's exhibition is based on ethnological, cultural-historical, and archaeological collections, and it opened gradually. While the ethnological and cultural-historical permanent exhibits opened in 2005 and 2006, respectively, the permanent archaeological exhibit opened in mid-2017. In addition to the exhibits in the permanent museum display, visitors can see various temporary exhibitions. The museum staff is actively involved in educational activities, primarily for elementary and high school students. They also engage in scouting activities by publishing catalogs along with occasional exhibitions and releasing books and the Đakovština Museum Proceedings.

The Đakovo wine region is one of the four wine regions of the Osijek-Baranja County. The company Đakovačka vina was established in 1997 through the restructuring of the former PIK Đakovo and has been operating independently since then. In 2008, Kutjevo d.d. became its majority owner, and it continues to operate in this form to this day. Their annual production ranges from 3 to 3.5 million liters of high-quality wines from their own and cooperative vineyards, totaling over 500 hectares.
