The fourth issue of Via Slavonija & Baranja magazine was presented on Friday, 28 November, bringing together numerous representatives from the tourism and business sectors who showcased projects and achievements that continue to shape the growth of Slavonia and Baranja as a rising continental destination.
The new edition highlights this year’s award winners from the Croatian Tourism Days, further emphasising the region’s strength and diversity in tourism development. Among the awards is Hotel Materra, recognised as Croatia’s Best Wellness Hotel, alongside other notable individuals who significantly contribute to the region’s visibility and appeal. Franjo Vinković, a blacksmith from Đakovo and leader of creative tourism workshops, was awarded the title of Tourism Animator of the Year for his innovative and engaging approach to cultural interpretation. At the same time, Bernarda Fuis, owner of the Ondine apartment and tasting room in Zmajevac, received the title of Host of the Year for her authentic hospitality and dedication to local tradition.
The promotion also highlighted broader regional achievements: Osijek-Baranja County was named Croatia’s Most Desirable Continental Destination, and the HeadOnEast festival was awarded Tourist Event of the Year, further confirming the growing recognition of Slavonia and Baranja on the national tourism map.
